Yoga Asana Fundamentals!

This will be an opportunity to dive deeper into some of the more common postures of a regular Vinyasa class. All too often we can breeze through postures like Chaturanga or Upward Facing Dog without fully understanding how to do them safely. Over time this can lead to bad habits, or worse, injury.

In this workshop we will be able to fully explore a number of postures by breaking them down into stages so you can really understand the key points and learn how the teaching cues feel in your body. We will also look at how to transition smoothly between postures.

Suitable for: All Levels. Whether you are new to yoga and would like to learn more, or you are a seasoned yogi, keen to approach your practice with a beginner’s mind, this workshop will help you establish a strong foundation from which you can grow a safe, strong and enduring yoga practice.

Arm Balancing!

Arm balancing in yoga is so much more than looking cool and impressing your friends! Learning how to fly is confidence building, empowering and fun! It requires strength, bravery, patience and trust.

I have written a blog post about what arm balancing means to me and why you might like to integrate it into your practice here.

For this workshop, I have teamed up with my lovely, and very knowledgeable friend, Sarah Prior. Sarah is also a Seasonal Yoga teacher and loves arm balancing as much as I do! Together, we will share with you some of our favourite ways to prepare the body and mind for taking flight. We will break down the components required for arm balancing poses and you will learn how to use your practice to build the strength you need to safely transfer weight to your hands from your feet. We invite you to put aside any expectation or judgement and join us for some exploratory playtime!

Suitable for: All Levels. If you have never played with an arm balance before, or perhaps you just can’t seem to take off no matter how hard you try, this workshop will give you the tools and information you need to help you develop your practice and demystify how to fly.
